07:14 PM EDT, 08/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The US paid out $33.4 billion in tariff refunds in July, bringing total refunds to more than $100 billion since the Supreme Court struck down President Donald Trump's blanket tariffs, Yahoo Finance reported Wednesday.
The $33.4 billion in refunds exceeded the $24.8 billion in tariff revenue collected during July, marking the third straight month of negative tariff revenue, Yahoo Finance reported.
The Treasury statement showed the US government deficit at just under $1.8 trillion for the first 10 months of the fiscal year, Yahoo Finance reported.
The refunds follow the Supreme Court's Feb. 20 decision to strike down tariffs imposed under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act, with a government-run refund portal opening in late April, Yahoo Finance reported.
