06:01 AM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The US and UK signed a trade deal Monday that formally lowered some tariffs on British imports, US President Donald Trump said, describing it as a "historic" agreement.
The deal "provides American companies unprecedented access to British markets while bolstering the national security and economy of the US," Trump said.
Trump said the deal increases US access to UK exports, including beef, ethanol, and other agricultural products as well as reducing or eliminating non-tariff barriers.
The deal was announced by Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Canada, news outlets reported.
Steel and aluminum policy remain to be negotiated, the White House said.
