US Wireless Industry Seen Sustaining Growth on Subscriber Additions in Q4, 2025, UBS Says
Dec 19, 2024 12:48 PM

03:16 PM EST, 12/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US wireless industry is poised to sustain financial growth in Q4 and 2025 as subscriber additions continue, UBS Securities said Wednesday in a report.

Trends are expected to be "more of the same with low churn, low upgrades and rational competition supporting [low to mid single-digit] revenue and EBITDA growth," UBS said.

The industry will probably add 2.9 million postpaid phone subscribers in Q4 and 9.1 million subscribers for the year, countering concerns about a slowdown in growth, the report said.

The industry trend will "normalize" next year with about 8 million subscriber additions, or a 3% growth, which compares with the 3.5% to 4% increase in recent years, UBS said.

"We expect T-Mobile's (TMUS) subscriber growth to remain at industry leading levels while Verizon's (VZ) metrics improve annually and AT&T ( T ) continues to have the lowest churn," the report said. "We look for 1-2% phone [average revenue per user] growth and [fixed wireless access] momentum to sustain 3-4% industry service revenue growth in 4Q and 2025."
