USA Rare Earth to Collaborate With PolarStar for US Magnet Supply Chain

09:26 AM EDT, 05/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- USA Rare Earth ( USAR ) said Tuesday it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with programmable magnet manufacturing firm PolarStar Magnetics.

The memorandum is related to USA Rare Earth's ( USAR ) aim to establish and secure a domestic rare earth magnet supply chain for the US, including providing high-powered magnets that are compliant with the requirements of the defense industry, the company said.

Using the available capacities of USA Rare Earth's ( USAR ) facilities, PolarStar will be included in early-round testing of US-made magnets and discussions will advance toward a detailed multi-year supply agreement, according to the statement.
