12:16 PM EDT, 03/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Vale (VALE) said Wednesday it entered an agreement to purchase 50 new locomotives from Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies ( WAB ) as it seeks to boost efficiency and cut emissions from its rail operations.

The locomotives will be produced at Wabtec's factory in Contagem, Brazil, and will be delivered starting next year, Vale said.

Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
