12:07 PM EST, 01/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Valneva (VALN) said Thursday it has been awarded a $32.8 million contract by the US Department of Defense for the supply of Ixiaro, a Japanese encephalitis vaccine.

The one-year contract takes effect immediately, the company said.

Shares of Valneva were up more than 4% in recent trading.
