Velan Awarded C$20 Million Valve Order for Pickering Nuclear Generation Station Refurbishment

02:15 PM EDT, 10/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Velan ( VLNSF ) said Monday that it has been awarded a valve order valued at more than C$20 million from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to supply Emergency Cooling Injection (ECI) valves for three reactors.

The reactors are being refurbished at the Pickering Nuclear Generation Station, a statement said.

Velan ( VLNSF ) supplied the original valves over 45 years ago and has continuously supported Pickering through its construction and refurbishment program.

The first shipment is scheduled for January 2027 with subsequent deliveries to be completed early 2028.

The company's shares are up $0.24, to $15.85, on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
