Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.27.

Revenue in the three months ended Jan. 31 fell to $253.5 million from $265.1 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $277 million.

In the fiscal year ending Jan. 31, the company expects revenue of $960 million, plus or minus 3%, and adjusted EPS of $2.93 at the midpoint of the revenue guidance.

Analysts polled by FactSet expect revenue of $970.3 million and adjusted EPS of $3.11.

Shares of Verint Systems ( VRNT ) fell 6.8% in recent after-hours trading.
