11:01 AM EDT, 08/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Verizon Communications ( VZ ) said Tuesday it won a 10-year contract worth $176 million for providing government emergency telecommunications and wireless priority service.
The company said the new contract is a renewal of its service, awarded by the Emergency Communications Division of the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
Verizon said its frontline crisis response team provides on-demand, emergency assistance to government agencies and emergency responders, with support devices such as portable cell sites, Wi-Fi hotspots, charging stations, and other Verizon solutions.
