10:18 AM EDT, 10/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Verizon Communications ( VZ ) said Monday it plans expand to its Fios high-speed broadband service to over 3,000 addresses in Jamestown and Westerly, Rhode Island.

In collaboration with Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, the expansion includes $3.6 million in funding as part of the American Rescue Plan Act, the company said. It expects to complete construction of the expansion by the end of 2026.
