12:46 PM EST, 01/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Verizon Communications ( VZ ) on Tuesday said its engineers recently achieved 5.5 Gbps download speeds in a lab setting.

"That's the equivalent of downloading 266 Taylor Swift albums a minute or streaming 3,056 Hulu episodes per hour," the company said.

The proof-of-concept trial was conducted in a 5G lab environment with Samsung Electronics and MediaTek, Verizon said.
