07:07 AM EDT, 09/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Vertical Aerospace ( EVTWF ) said Tuesday that it has completed its phase 3 piloted wingborne flight testing of the VX4 prototype, a four-passenger, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
The company said the prototype took off, flew, and landed like a conventional aircraft with lift generated by its wings.
The company said it conducted pilot flight tests covering 250 miles, reaching a top speed of 120 knots and an altitude of 2,000 feet.
The final phase of the testing is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, it said.
The company added that it still targets type certification for commercial use in 2028.
Shares of the company were up 2.2% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
