NEW YORK, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Alejandro Przygoda, a
veteran dealmaker who built his career on advising insurance and
other financial companies, is launching his own boutique
investment bank, according to a statement on Wednesday.
Przygoda has spent more than three decades in investment
banking, most recently as co-head of global investment banking
and global head of the financial institutions group (FIG) at
Jefferies Financial Group ( JEF ).
His new firm, Przygoda & Co (PRZ), will be based in New York
City and provide strategic advice to companies and investment
firms on matters including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder
activism and capital raisings, according to the statement.
"The differentiating factor is providing trusted advice,
which is conflict-free, independent, tailor-made, and delivered
with the benefit of significant experience," said Przygoda in an
interview.
Przygoda left in May after nearly four years at Jefferies,
having spent more than a decade prior as global head of FIG at
Credit Suisse. His career has also included stints at UBS
and Greenhill, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Joining Przygoda at PRZ's launch is Christian Reber, who will
act as strategic adviser to the new bank, the statement said.
Reber most recently led the global and European commercial
insurance and reinsurance business at Boston Consulting.
