09:20 AM EDT, 03/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Viasat ( VSAT ) said Tuesday that it has been chosen by the European Space Agency to join its Moonlight project to develop a lunar orbiting navigation and communication system.

Viasat ( VSAT ) said the Moonlight communications system will provide access to data on and around the Moon, and between Earth and the Moon.

Under the project, Viasat ( VSAT ) said it will be responsible for designing and developing the communication network. It will also oversee the communication earth ground infrastructure and communication lunar surface user terminals, Viasat ( VSAT ) said.
