ViaSat Says Awarded US Space Force Contract to Provide Secure Satellite Communications

08:33 AM EDT, 10/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- ViaSat ( VSAT ) said Wednesday it was awarded a contract to develop a small satellite geosynchronous Earth orbit constellation with anti-jam capabilities for the US Space Force Space Systems Command's Protected Tactical SATCOM-Global program.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Viasat ( VSAT ) said it is one of five awardees to receive an initial contract for the project, which is aiming for a first launch in 2028.

Under the initial award, Viasat ( VSAT ) said it will design a dual-band satellite and anchor station architecture over a seven month-period.
