04:22 AM EDT, 09/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- ViaSat ( VSAT ) and Space42 said Monday they plan to form a joint venture called Equatys to enable direct-to-device connectivity services and configure existing and planned mobile satellite services to 5G networks.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The companies said Equatys plans to connect satellite and terrestrial networks in a platform for standard smartphones and Internet of Things devices, operating as a lean infrastructure provider.

Commercial rollout is targeted within three years, the companies said.
