Viasat to Expand Satellite Services to Azerbaijan

01:11 PM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Viasat ( VSAT ) said Thursday that it is working with Azerbaijan's space agency Azercosmos to expand satellite services to Azerbaijan and beyond.

The communications company said that under a proposed arrangement, Azercosmos and Viasat ( VSAT ) will provide services for various industrial applications, including tracking and telemetry for advanced transport systems, pipeline monitoring and control for energy companies, and environmental or safety monitoring for mining and agriculture.

The partnership aims to scale satellite-based solutions in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Central & South Asia, according to the company.

Shares of Viasat ( VSAT ) were down 6.5% in recent trading.
