08:53 AM EDT, 07/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Vicinity Motor ( VEV ) said Friday it received certification from the California Air Resources Board for its 2024 VMC 1200 electric truck as a zero-emission vehicle.

The certification allows the VMC 1200 to be sold in all US states and also makes the company eligible for California's incentive program for hybrid buses, Vicinity said.

Shares of the company rose 175% in recent Friday premarket activity.
