01:41 PM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Vicor ( VICR ) said Wednesday that the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted a preliminary injunction that prevents Foxconn's subsidiaries from pursuing arbitration against Vicor ( VICR ) at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.

Foxconn's subsidiaries tried to use fine print in their purchase orders for Vicor ( VICR ) power modules to claim royalty-free licenses to Vicor's ( VICR ) patents, including patents involved in a pending investigation by the US International Trade Commission, the company said.

Vicor ( VICR ) added that if the ITC issues an exclusion order, it could prevent infringing power converter modules and systems containing them from entering the US.

Foxconn did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

Shares of Vicor ( VICR ) were more than 4% higher in recent trading.
