06:51 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- VinFast (VFS) has begun production at its second domestic factory in Ha Tinh province to increase the output of affordable urban electric cars, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

The reports said the new 36-hectare plant has an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles and supports the company's goal of producing 1 million EVs annually.

The move comes as VinFast's global expansion faces delays, including a postponed US factory launch now slated for 2028, Reuters said, adding its India plant is expected to start operations next month.
