07:12 AM EDT, 08/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- VinFast Auto ( VFS ) will delay the launch of its Thailand dealership network due to a slowdown in car sales in Southeast Asia's second-largest economy, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing a company statement.

The company said it plans to "carefully evaluate" when it will launch sales in the country, Bloomberg reported.

"We have postponed the launch of our dealerships in Thailand to ensure that our infrastructure and operations align with VinFast's global standards," Bloomberg cited the company as saying.

The Vietnamese EV maker did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
