09:04 AM EDT, 09/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Virax Biolabs ( VRAX ) said Monday it has extended its exclusive distribution agreement with Cosmos Health ( COSM ) to commercialize Mpox virus test kits in Gulf countries.

Shares of Virax rose more than 38% in recent premarket activity. Cosmos Health ( COSM ) added over 6% recently.

Virax had previously signed an exclusive distribution deal for Greece and Cyprus, with a non-exclusive agreement to distribute throughout Europe, the company said. The latest extension covers the Gulf Cooperation Council, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Financial details of the contract extension were not disclosed.
