09:06 AM EDT, 07/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Virtu Financial ( VIRT ) said Wednesday it has named Aaron Simons chief executive.

Simons, who joined the company in 2008, previously served as chief technology officer. He will succeed Douglas Cifu, who will retire as CEO but will remain an adviser.

Shares of the company rose more than 3% in recent premarket activity Wednesday.
