03:53 PM EDT, 06/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Visa (V) and Mastercard ( MA ) are set to confront new lawsuits regarding the fees they impose on retailers after the UK's Competition Appeal Tribunal on Friday allowed collective cases brought by merchants to proceed.
The tribunal said Friday it has decided to grant revised applications by Commercial and Interregional Card Claims I and II seeking to recover damages allegedly caused by Visa and Mastercard ( MA ) charging commercial card multilateral interchange fees.
The ruling is subject to any representations by other parties interested in the cases within a three-week window.
Neither Visa nor Mastercard ( MA ) have immediately responded to requests for comment by MT Newswires.
