Visa Reportedly Launches Data Center in South Africa

01:15 PM EDT, 07/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Visa (V) has launched a data center in Johannesburg, South Africa, which is its first in Africa, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

The data center is part of a 1 billion South African rand ($57 million) investment in the country over the next three years, Visa's head of Southern and East Africa Michael Berner said during a launch event, according to a Reuters report.

Visa did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
