11:44 AM EDT, 06/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Vision Marine Technologies ( VMAR ) said Monday that it filed for its fifth patent, with the latest one covering its E-Motion vehicle control unit apparatus that "maximizes the functionality of an intelligent electric marine powertrain."

The E-Motion vehicle control unit is a product of over five years of research and development in embedded software design, the company said, adding potential over-the-air updates would provide boaters with "functionality comparable to electric automotive industry standards."

Shares of Vision Marine Technologies ( VMAR ) were up about 8% in recent trading.
