08:17 AM EST, 01/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Vistra ( VST ) shares fell more than 5% in recent premarket activity Friday after its battery storage plant in California caught fire Thursday.

About 40% of the plant was reportedly engulfed by fire, which broke out around 3 p.m. local time, multiple media outlets reported Friday.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, the reports said.

Vistra ( VST ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
