04:46 PM EDT, 07/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stantec ( STN ) after trade on Tuesday said Vito Culmone will join the company in mid-July as its next chief financial officer.

Culmone will officially assume the CFO role for the engineering and design company on September 3, succeeding Theresa Jang, who previously announced her plan to retire.

According to a statement, the announcement follows "an extensive search and evaluation" of internal and external candidates supported by a global executive search firm.

The statement noted Culmone brings over 35 years of CFO and executive financial leadership experience across a number of industries, most recently as CFO for MDA Space ( MDALF ) .

Stantec ( STN ) shares closed down $1.63, or 1.4%, to $112.90 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
