10:34 AM EST, 02/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vizsla Copper ( VCUFF ) on Wednesday said drilling is now underway at the Poplar Project located in central British Columbia.
The company said up to 8,000 meters of drilling is planned in about 16 drill holes, targeting expansion of the Thira copper-molybdenum discovery and evaluating additional high-priority porphyry targets. It said drilling at Thira is designed to evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of the porphyry-related mineralization discovered in 2025, as well as the geological and structural controls on higher-grade zones.
"The near-surface Thira discovery is a compelling porphyry copper-molybdenum system, with mineralization remaining open in all directions," said Vizsla Copper ( VCUFF ) vice president of exploration Steve Blower. "Also, the neighbouring targets at Camp Lake and Copper Pond are a high priority due to their proximity to Thira and their similar geophysical signatures."
Vizsla Copper ( VCUFF ) said a second drill rig is evaluating additional porphyry targets at Camp Lake and Copper Pond along the more than 8-kilometer Thira alteration corridor.
Shares of the company were last seen down 2.3% at $2.09 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
