Vodafone offers free Netflix, Amazon Prime subscription, says report
Jun 26, 2018 2:06 AM

Telecom giant Vodafone will now offer free Netflix and Amazon Prime subscription to its postpaid users, reported India Today.

The new development came as telecom operators across the Indian market are attempting to consolidate and strengthen their position in face of rising competition in the sector, the report said.

The new offers also highlights the trend where telecom firms are joining hands with video streaming providers to attract more customers, added the report.

The telecoms major has come up with various offers and revamped the existing ‘Red post-paid plans’ to adapt the new strategy, added the report.

Subscribers who avail the Rs 399 and Rs 499 postpaid plan will get one year free subscription to Vodafone Play and Amazon Prime, said the report, adding that they will also get 40 GB and 75 GB data respectively along with unlimited local and STD calls and free national roaming.

Those who subscribe to the Rs 1,299 plan will be eligible to two months of free subscription to Netflix along with one year free subscription to Vodafone Play and Amazon Prime. They will also get other benefits including 100 GB data with rollover facility of up to 500 GB, unlimited local and STD calls, unlimited roaming and 100 ISD minutes.

Similar perks are also given to those who subscribe to the Vodafone's Rs 1,999 plan. Users will be given 200 GB with roll over data of up to 500 GB. In addition to three months of free Netflix subscription, they will get benefits such as ‘free local and STD calls, unlimited roaming, 200 ISD minutes, one year subscription to Vodafone Play and Amazon Prime.’

People subscribing to Rs 2,999 offer will get free services worth Rs 10, 498. This will include ‘Vodafone Play worth Rs 499 for 12 months, Amazon Prime worth Rs 999 for 12 months , device protection worth Rs 3,000 for free, Netflix worth Rs 6,000 for 12 months and coupons worth Rs 2,999 for every month,’ according to the report.
