Volaris Reports Lower Passenger Demand, Capacity for June
Jul 8, 2024 7:42 AM

10:29 AM EDT, 07/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion, or Volaris, (VLRS) reported Monday that its passenger demand, measured as revenue passenger miles, fell by more than 11% year over year in June.

Capacity for the month, measured as available seat miles, declined by nearly 14% on an annual basis, the company said. The low-cost carrier attributed the drop to accelerated Pratt & Whitney engine inspections and the resulting aircraft groundings.

The load factor increased to almost 86% in June from 83% a year earlier, the company said.
