Vulcan Materials taps insider Ronnie Pruitt as CEO
Oct 13, 2025 5:58 AM

Oct 13 (Reuters) - Construction materials firm Vulcan

Materials ( VMC ) on Monday named insider Ronnie Pruitt as its

next chief executive officer, effective January 1, with Tom Hill

transitioning to executive chairman.

Pruitt will take over the Birmingham, Alabama-based

construction materials producer at a time when the wider

industry is facing slowing demand amid higher borrowing costs

and stubborn inflation.

A building materials veteran, Pruitt has served as chief

operating officer since August 2023 and previously led U.S.

Concrete as CEO before its acquisition by Vulcan.

Vulcan sells aggregates such as crushed stone, sand and

gravel, and supplies asphalt in six states, including Texas and

California.
