11:37 AM EDT, 04/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Vuzix ( VUZI ) said Wednesday that it has received a six-figure dollar order for custom color waveguides from a European original equipment manufacturer.

The company said the waveguides will be integrated into a new generation of thermal smart glasses that is being developed with a European design and research and development advisory firm. Vuzix ( VUZI ) did not identify the customer, nor did it disclose the specific contract value.

Vuzix ( VUZI ) said the customer expects volume production of the smart glasses to start in fall this year.

Shares of Vuzix ( VUZI ) were up 9% in recent Wednesday trading.
