11:22 AM EDT, 06/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Vuzix ( VUZI ) said Monday it was selected by the US Department of the Air Force's AFWERX platform for a smart business innovative research phase 1 contract to develop augmented reality head-mounted displays using waveguide technologies.

Under the contract, Vuzix ( VUZI ) will develop and supply waveguide and head-mounted display capabilities, the company said.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Shares of the company were up 6.3% in recent trading.
