Wabtec Receives $277 Million Order for Locomotives From SimFer

03:20 PM EDT, 07/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies ( WAB ) , or Wabtec, said Tuesday that it received a $277 million order for Evolution Series ES43ACmi locomotives from SimFer.

These locomotives will support rail operations for the Simandou iron ore project in the east of the Republic of Guinea, the company said.

SimFer is a joint venture among the government of Guinea, Rio Tinto and Chalco Iron Ore Holdings, Wabtec said.
