Walgreens agrees to pay $106.8 mln to settle US charges over prescription billing

Sept 13 (Reuters) - Walgreens Boots Alliance ( WBA )

agreed to pay $106.8 million to settle charges it billed the

U.S. government for prescriptions that were never dispensed, the

Department of Justice said on Friday.

The Justice Department said that from 2009 to 2020,

Walgreens submitted false claims for payment to Medicare,

Medicaid and other federal health care programs for

prescriptions it processed but which were never picked up.
