06:46 AM EDT, 03/26/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Wall Street banker bonuses saw a 31.5% increase to an average of $244,700 in 2024, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday, citing New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.

The reports estimated a record bonus pool of $47.5 billion as employment in the sector climbed to a 30-year high with 201,500 employees.

The surge in bonuses is expected to generate an additional $600 million in state income tax revenue and $275 million for the city compared to 2023, they added.
