Walmart Adds Higher-Paid Roles to Support Pharmacy Operations

10:05 AM EST, 01/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) said Wednesday it raised pay ranges and upgraded about 3,000 roles to pharmacy operations team lead roles across its US stores.

The retailer said the new team lead positions pay about $28 an hour on average, with maximum hourly pay of up to $42 depending on location, and are designed to support pharmacy managers and pharmacists.

Walmart ( WMT ) said pharmacy technicians earn about $22 an hour on average, and expanded pay bands allow some technicians to earn as much as $40.50 an hour based on location and credentials.

The changes apply across nearly 4,600 pharmacy locations nationwide and are intended to support planned pharmacy staff growth this year, the company said.
