10:43 AM EDT, 06/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) said Wednesday it will offer bonuses of up to $1,000 annually to eligible full- and part-time hourly store employees, depending on how long they stay with the company.

Walmart US Chief Executive John Farmer and Chief Talent Officer Lo Stomski in a post also announced a training plan to support front-line employees in moving into other jobs in its store and supply-chain operations, including facilities, HVAC and refrigeration, and automation.

Farmer and Stomski also unveiled new paid education options, which they said would offer at least 50 certifications. "Our goal is to fast-track front-line associates into approximately 100,000 jobs that are higher-paying and in-demand for our business over the next three years," they said.
