10:01 AM EDT, 06/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) said Friday it has opened its first-ever owned and operated case-ready beef facility in Olathe, Kansas, as the company looks to build an end-to-end supply chain for Angus beef.

The 300,000+ square-foot facility will package and distribute Angus cuts sourced directly from Sustainable Beef LLC to stores across the Midwest, said Walmart ( WMT ), adding that the facility will create over 600 jobs for Olathe and the surrounding community.

In August 2022, Walmart ( WMT ) acquired a minority stake in Sustainable Beef, which is a rancher-owned company based in North Platte, Nebraska.
