05:19 AM EST, 11/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) said Saturday it has opened its first branded store in South Africa.

The retailer, which has operated stores in the country through its Massmart subsidiary for years, first disclosed plans to open Walmart ( WMT ) stores in South Africa in September.

The store is located in Roodepoort, near Johannesburg, the company said.

Walmart ( WMT ) is also launching a 60-minute online delivery service, the company said.
