11:26 AM EST, 01/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) is poised to deliver on its long-term growth plan, Oppenheimer said Thursday in a report.
"Management remains well positioned to deliver" sales growth of 4% and operating income growth of 4% to 8%, supported by gains in alternative revenue, AI benefits and improved e-commerce profitability, the report said.
Walmart ( WMT ) shares rose 23% in 2025 versus 16% for the S&P 500, with additional growth potential seen in media, membership, and marketplace initiatives, along with the future value of holdings in Flipkart and PhonePe, the report said.
"We would characterize the bull run as more in the middle to later innings," Oppenheimer said. "We view the setup as trickier in the very short term" as
fiscal-year guidance in mid-February may fall short of Wall Street estimates, the report said.
Oppenheimer raised its price target on Walmart ( WMT ) stock to $125 from $115 and maintained its outperform rating.
