Walmart Reportedly Cuts Jobs, Closes Office, Relocates Staff
Feb 5, 2025 3:47 AM

06:16 AM EST, 02/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) is cutting corporate positions and closing its Charlotte, North Carolina, office as part of a plan to move employees to its main hubs in Arkansas and California, multiple news outlets reported late Tuesday, citing an internal memo.

Employees from Hoboken, New Jersey, and other smaller offices will be required to relocate to the company's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, or its Sunnyvale, California, office, according to the memo, these reports said.

The move follows Walmart's ( WMT ) decision last year to relocate employees from Dallas, Atlanta, and Toronto to larger hubs, the memo said.

Walmart ( WMT ) has not specified how many jobs will be impacted or the severance packages for those workers who elect not to relocate, Fox News reported.

Walmart ( WMT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
