Walmart Sells Stake in JD.com; JD.com Shares Plunge Pre-Bell

06:34 AM EDT, 08/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) sold its entire stake in Chinese e-commerce firm JD.com ( JD ) , a regulatory filing showed late Tuesday.

JD.com ( JD ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Walmart ( WMT ) sold 144.5 million shares for $24.95 per share, or about $3.6 billion, in an offering handled by Morgan Stanley ( MS ) .

Walmart ( WMT ) and Morgan Stanley ( MS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment regarding the offering's details reported by Bloomberg.

Shares of JD.com ( JD ) were down 7.1% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
