02:26 PM EDT, 03/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney ( DIS ) said Monday that Glass Lewis has recommended shareholders vote for all of the company's 12 director nominees at the annual meeting on April 3.

Glass Lewis also recommended withholding support for the Trian Group and Blackwells Capital nominees, the company said.

In a Monday letter to Disney ( DIS ) shareholders, Trian said the company needs new independent directors with a shareholder mindset and a sense of urgency. Trian recommended shareholders vote for its nominees, Nelson Peltz and Jay Rasulo, to replace Michael Froman and Maria Elena Lagomasino, and withhold votes for all three Blackwells' nominees.

Blackwells did not immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.

Shares of Disney ( DIS ) rose 1.8% in recent trading.
