Software consulting major Accenture has opened its largest interactive experience centre in Mumbai. This is the sixth such facility by Accenture Interactive, the marketing services arm of Accenture.
The Experience Activation Centre, as it is called, aims at delivering state-of-the-art marketing and brand solutions. Debbie Polishook, the group chief executive of Accenture Operations, said its main objective is to take clients through an 'intelligent operations' journey.
"We do not even view traditional agencies as competitors. We have approached this as creating the best experiences in the planet, tied up with our Accenture Interactive business," she observed.
"We have been in India for probably 20 years now from an operations perspective. When we originally came here it was all about low-cost labour and labour arbitrage. Then the innovation started to happen and we were able to bring in technological skills that wanted to help automate things and drive intelligence in what we do in operations. As marketing started to move from traditional marketing to digital, we saw a huge opportunity to help our clients, not only to help drive productivity and innovation, but really drive growth and that is what is super exciting about what we are doing," she pointed out.
The company would add a few hundred jobs over the next couple of years in India. "However as market demand picks up, that could get bigger. We provide what is needed to support our clients," Polishook added.
