03:01 PM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Wells Fargo ( WFC ) said Thursday it is expanding its affordable housing program.
The company said it would expand its $10,000 Homebuyer Access grant program in the eight metropolitan where the program was launched last year, including New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis, Washington, Charlotte, and Baltimore.
The program will also be expanded to certain areas in New Jersey, Wells Fargo ( WFC ) said.
The grants can only be used for the down payment on a Wells Fargo ( WFC ) fixed-rate conventional loan for the purchaser's primary residence, the bank said.
The program is aimed at supporting home ownership in traditionally undeserved communities, particularly among Black and Hispanic populations.
