Wendy's Launches 'Project Fresh' Strategic Plan to Drive Growth, Profitability

08:23 AM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Wendy's (WEN) said Thursday that it has launched a strategic plan to improve its brand positioning strategy, accelerate profitability, and boost shareholder value.

The company said its 'Project Fresh' plan will focus on four key actions: brand revitalization, system optimization, operational excellence, and capital and resources reallocation.

Wendy's said the plan includes assessing its US restaurant system to increase profitability, and transforming US restaurant operations "to elevate experience and drive greater efficiency."

The gross loan portfolio of Non-Banking Finance Companies-Microfinance Institutions (NBFC-MFIs) is likely to grow at 10-15 percent in the current fiscal, aided by an expected pick-up in disbursements, says a report. However, the Portfolio At Risk (PAR) of NBFC-MFIs may inch up to 5.5-6 percent this fiscal from 5.40 percent in the previous financial year, domestic rating agency Brickwork Ratings said in the report on Tuesday. The Gross Loan Portfolio (GLP) for NBFC-MFIs had grown only 11 percent year-on-year in FY 2021.

While talking about the paper industry in FY21, Singhania said the economy improved appreciably in the second half of the year, reflected in a pick-up in demand for packaging boards as the pandemic accelerated online purchases due to social distancing restrictions. The emphasis on hygiene increased the demand for tissue papers.

JSW Steel on Tuesday posted an 11 percent jump in its crude steel output at 13.82 lakh tonne (LT) during July 2021. The company had produced 12.46 LT of crude steel in the same month last year, JSW Steel said in a statement.
