05:35 AM EDT, 09/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- WeRide ( WRD ) said Thursday it has expanded into Belgium with the launch of its Robobus in the city of Leuven.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The launch is being conducted in partnership with Flemish public transportation company De Lijn, the city of Leuven, and consultancy firm Espaces-Mobilites.

Beginning immediately, WeRide ( WRD ) said its Robobus will map downtown Leuven, between Leuven Station and Heverlee, the company said.

Road testing is expected in mid-September, with a safety officer onboard during the first phase, and a pilot program scheduled to run from mid-November to to late January, with regular shuttles expected to begin service afterward, the company said.
