WeRide Launches Fully Driverless Service in Singapore

06:11 AM EDT, 07/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- WeRide ( WRD ) said Thursday it has launched a fully driverless operation, Robobus, at Singapore's Resorts World Sentosa.

The company said Robobus is the first autonomous vehicle in Southeast Asia to operate without a safety officer on board.

WeRide ( WRD ) conducted extensive testing and safety assessment of its remote operations, and recently secured approval from the Land Transport Authority of Singapore to offer fully autonomous rides to the public.

The Robobus connects various locations within Resorts World Sentosa on a fixed 12-minute loop, the company said.
